Potassium phenyl sulfate is a chemical compound that is classified as an alkylating agent. It can be synthesized by the reaction of hydrogen peroxide with sulphuric acid, with or without the addition of a metal salt (e.g., potassium chloride). Potassium phenyl sulfate is used in wastewater treatment to remove undesired metals and fatty acids from water. It also acts as a solvent for polyester resins and is used in acidic ionizable solutes.
