Informazioni sul prodotto
- 1,3-Dimethyl-2-Thioxoimidazolidin-4-One
1,3-Dimethyl-2-thiohydantoin is a cationic alkylating agent that is used as a reagent in organic synthesis. 1,3-Dimethyl-2-thiohydantoin is an intermediate in the synthesis of 1,3-dimethyluracil and 2,6-dichloropyrimidine. It undergoes elimination reactions to form ammonium ions. The equilibrium constant for this reaction can be increased by adding ammonium ions or carbinolamine. This reaction can also be run at high yield by using sodium ethoxide as a base.
