Descrizione

22-Dehydroclerosterol is a natural product that is found in the Verbenaceae family of plants. It has shown antibacterial activity against Streptococcus aureus and Staphylococcus aureus, as well as cytotoxic effect on reptans cells. 22-Dehydroclerosterol has also been found to have an antibacterial effect on Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex. This compound can be extracted from the plant using n-hexane or ethanol, and it has been shown to inhibit cancer cell proliferation in vitro. 22-Dehydroclerosterol's mechanism of action is not fully understood, but it may affect the biosynthesis of β-amyrin or cyasterone.
