• Descrizione: RSV604 is a replication inhibitor that inhibits the life cycle of viruses by binding to a specific protein, the viral RNA polymerase. This binding prevents the synthesis of viral RNA and DNA. RSV604 has been shown to be effective against group-2 paramyxoviruses, such as herpes simplex virus and influenza virus, but not against other groups of viruses. RSV604 binds to the viral polymerase and blocks viral RNA synthesis without affecting host cell RNA synthesis. It has been shown to have low cytotoxicity in cell culture, which may be due to its ability to bind selectively to the HIV-1 reverse transcriptase enzyme.
