Descrizione:I3,II8-Biapigenin is a noncompetitive inhibitor that binds to the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX) and blocks the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandins. It has been shown that I3,II8-biapigenin can inhibit various COX isoforms in vitro. This compound has been found to be potent when exposed to light, which may be due to its ability to convert into an active form after exposure to UV or visible light. I3,II8-biapigenin has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in vivo. I3,II8-biapigenin also inhibits the activity of other enzymes such as CYP2C9 and CYP2D6 in vitro.
