It is not reactive with cells, but it does react with free amino groups on proteins, which may account for its low toxicity. The antiviral activity of JNJ-678 is dependent on its concentration in plasma and time. In addition, JNJ-678 is eliminated from the body at a rate that is proportional to its plasma concentration.
