Descrizione:Derenofylline is a drug that belongs to a class of adenosine receptor antagonists and is used to diagnose the glomerular filtration rate (GFR). It has been shown that the binding of Derenofylline to these receptors produces an increase in intracellular cAMP levels, which leads to increased cardiac contractility. The molecular modeling study showed that this drug binds to the p2y receptors on the cells' surface and activates them. This activation leads to an increase in cellular adenylyl cyclase activity, causing an increase in intracellular cAMP levels. Derenofylline has shown cardioprotective effects when administered before or after myocardial infarction and can be used for the treatment of congestive heart failure.
