Descrizione

Roquefortine C is an alkaloid that is found in the fungus Penicillium roqueforti. It has been shown to have a wide range of biological activities, such as toxicity and emissions studies. Roquefortine C is also used as a matrix effect control for LC-MS/MS. This compound has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of nitrogenous compounds, such as urea, ammonia, and glutamine. It does this by inhibiting the enzyme synthetase (EC 2.1.3) that catalyzes the conversion of ornithine to putrescine in the urea cycle. The compound also shows some degree of toxicity to rat liver microsomes and liver cells when administered acutely at high doses.br>Roquefortine C has been shown to be toxic in rats when given at high doses over a prolonged period of time and may cause liver damage.br>Roquefortine C inhibits camp levels
