Rupatadine is a dual histamine H1 receptor and platelet activating factor antagonist that is used for the treatment of allergic rhinitis. It can also be used for the treatment of chronic spontaneous urticaria. This drug inhibits the H1 receptor and the platelet activating factor receptor from carrying out their roles resulting in a reduction in the symptoms of allergic rhinitis.
