Descrizione:Pyridoclax is a drug that inhibits the protein Mcl-1, which is found in cells of myeloid leukemia and other cancers. This drug binds to the Mcl-1 protein and prevents it from binding to the Bcl-2 protein, leading to apoptotic cell death. Pyridoclax has been shown to be effective against chemoresistant cancer cells, including those with mutations in Bcr-Abl or p53 genes. The drug also has anticancer activity against senescent cells, which are non-dividing cells that have stopped proliferating and are resistant to chemotherapy. Pyridoclax can also be used for specific treatment of cancerous tumors by targeting Mcl-1 proteins on tumor cells. The drug also has an effect on cancer stem cells, which have not yet been fully studied but may contribute to tumor growth and recurrence. Pyridoclax is currently being evaluated for its efficacy in treating solid tumors.
