6H-Benzo[c]chromen-6-one is an aryl halide. It has been shown to have anticancer activity against cervical cancer cell lines. 6H-Benzo[c]chromen-6-one binds to the CB2 cannabinoid receptor and inhibits tumor growth by inducing apoptosis in cancer cells. The mechanism of action may be due to its ability to inhibit the intracellular calcium release, thereby inhibiting proliferation of tumor cells. The reactivity of 6H-benzo[c]chromen-6-one with trifluoroacetic acid leads to the formation of nitro groups, which may subsequently react with nucleophilic agents such as ammonia or hydrazine, forming endophytic fungi. Ellagitannins are formed as reaction products from ellagic acid and 6H-benzo[c]chromen-6-one. These compounds have been shown to have antiangiogenic effects and can inhibit
