• Descrizione: Used in the MTT assay to asses the viability of cells. The yellow MTT is reduced by the living cells to a water-insoluble purple formazan. In order to make a quantitative measurement the formazan is often dissolved by addition of a solubilization solution to yield a colored solution that can be measured in a spectrophotometer. The rate of color formation reflects the dynamics and intensity of the microbial metabolism.
