It is the methyl ester of arachidonic acid, which is an omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid. Arachidonic Acid Methyl Ester has been shown to be a potent activator of the nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) in human neutrophils and HL-60 cells.
