Informazioni sul prodotto
- Bis(phenylsulfonyl)phenol
2,4-Bis(phenylsulfonyl)phenol is a synthetic recording agent that binds to sodium carbonate and polyvinyl chloride. It is used as an additive in the production of paper, paint, plastics, and rubber. 2,4-Bis(phenylsulfonyl)phenol is also used as a binder in paints and coatings. The sensitivity of this compound can be reduced by dilution with water or other solvents. When it is heated, its particle size decreases and it becomes more soluble in solvents such as methanol or acetone. Recrystallizing the compound from these solvents will result in a white crystalline solid. Hydrolysis of 2,4-Bis(phenylsulfonyl)phenol will produce benzenesulfonic acid and phenol. This reaction can be thermally catalyzed with heat or acidity to produce benzenesulfonic acid
