Descrizione:Zinc is a small-molecule inhibitor that blocks the action of proteases and prevents the spread of flavivirus. It has been shown to be effective in preventing infection with the West Nile virus, which is transmitted by mosquitoes. Zinc is a potent inhibitor of both type I and type II serine proteases. The molecule has also been shown to inhibit the replication of other viruses such as HIV-1, influenza A virus, and Ebola virus. This drug is currently being studied for use in prophylaxis against flavivirus infections.
