Descrizione:7-Methoxychroman is a natural compound that has been shown to bind to the androgen receptor, inhibiting the proliferation of prostate cancer cells. It has also been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the mitochondrial cytochrome P450. 7-Methoxychroman is an analog of chromone and is a precursor for the synthesis of phenylpropanoids and flavonoids. This compound can undergo fragmentation to form catechol, which may have anti-inflammatory properties in inflammatory diseases. 7-Methoxychroman binds to DNA with high affinity and inhibits DNA binding activity in prostate cancer cell lines. The binding constants are low, suggesting that this compound does not inhibit transcriptional events.
