Informazioni sul prodotto
- 1,8-Octanediol diacetate
- Octane-1,8-Diyl Diacetate
1,8-Diacetoxyoctane is a compound that is used in the production of aluminum and titanium. It is a precursor to aluminum alkyls and titanium tetrachloride. 1,8-Diacetoxyoctane can be produced by hydroalumination of acetylene with hydrogen or aluminum trichloride. The reaction proceeds via an intermediate formation of lithium acetate. This reaction can also be accomplished using lithium aluminum hydride or lithium aluminum tetrachloride as the reducing agent. The reduction of 1,8-diacetoxyoctane yields the desired product along with other byproducts such as ethyl acetate and propyl acetate.
