Descrizione

Dicresulene hydrate is a diagnostic agent that is used to treat leukoplakia and implanting tissues. It is a bactericidal agent with an unknown mechanism of action. Dicresulene hydrate has been shown to have bactericidal activity against Gram-positive bacteria, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Staphylococcus aureus. Dicresulene hydrate can be used in combination with chlorhexidine or polygonum for the treatment of leukoplakia, which are lesions on the oral mucosa characterized by white patches that are often caused by chronic irritation or infection. The molecular weight of dicresulene hydrate is 872 g/mol and it has a molecular formula of C12H14O2.
