Cefepime related compound E is a synthetic antibiotic that inhibits the growth of microorganisms. It is used to treat bacterial and protozoal infections, as well as other conditions. Cefepime related compound E belongs to the group of broad-spectrum antibiotics. It is active against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin resistant Enterococcus faecalis (VRE). This drug also has antiparasitic properties, which have been shown in experiments on various parasites including Leishmania donovani, Trypanosoma cruzi, and Plasmodium falciparum.
