3-(Allyloxy)benzoic acid is a macrocyclization agent that is used to synthesize macrocycles. It was found to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in the lung, breast, and prostate. It has been shown to be effective against cell line A549 and MDA-MB-231. This compound may be useful as an anticancer drug due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and proteins in cancer cells. 3-(Allyloxy)benzoic acid binds cisplatin and inhibits it from binding to DNA.
