Descrizione:4-(Chloromethyl)-3-nitrobenzoic acid is a wettable pesticide that has been registered under the trade name Avermectin. It is a water-soluble, crystalline solid with a melting point of 151°C. 4-(Chloromethyl)-3-nitrobenzoic acid is active against Graminearum and other plant pests, but not against insects. It is used in veterinary medicine to treat infections caused by bacteria and fungi. 4-(Chloromethyl)-3-nitrobenzoic acid has been shown to be cytotoxic to cultured human cells in vitro, but the mechanism of this effect remains unclear. This chemical also has an inhibitory effect on methadone metabolism in guinea pigs and rats, as well as on x-ray uptake in animals and humans.
