Descrizione:YH 16899 is a chemical inhibitor of protein synthesis that has been shown to have anti-cancer effects in vitro. It has been found to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells and induce cell death through its ability to disrupt the mesenchymal-epithelial transition. This agent, which is derived from a marine sponge, may be useful in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers. YH 16899 binds to collagenase, an enzyme involved in the breakdown of collagen, and prevents it from cleaving collagen into smaller fragments. It also binds to synthetase, an enzyme involved in the production of collagen, preventing it from synthesizing new collagen molecules. The binding sites for YH 16899 are located on fetal bovine serum albumin (FBS) and serum albumin (SA), which are two naturally occurring proteins found in blood plasma that can bind with other proteins or drugs. YH 16899 inhibits the activity of both FBS and SA by binding to these sites.
