MAL-dPEG2-NHS ester is a molecule that belongs to the class of peptide conjugates. It has been designed for use in pancreatic cancer imaging. MAL-dPEG2-NHS ester is composed of a mitochondria targeting sequence and an NHS ester at its C-terminus. The conjugate was synthesized by reacting the amine group of the NHS ester with the free carboxyl group of MAL, forming an amide bond. This reaction can be performed under mild conditions, which minimizes side reactions and reduces the need for purification steps.
