Descrizione:N-(Cyanomethyl)-4-methyl-2-[[2,2,2-trifluoro-1-[4-(4-methylsulfonylphenyl)phenyl]ethyl]amino]pentanamide is a nonbasic penetrant compound that has been shown to reduce the rate of bone resorption in vivo. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of collagenases and other enzymes involved in bone resorption. The compound can be used as a potential therapeutic for osteoporosis and other diseases that affect bone turnover. This compound was developed through optimization studies with rhesus macaques and cell based assays. The pharmacological treatment with this drug has also been tested on cells from human osteoblasts.
