Descrizione:Cyclopentadecanol is a fatty acid with an 18-carbon chain that has been shown to have corrosion inhibition properties. Cyclopentadecanol binds to metal surfaces, such as steel, copper and aluminum, in the presence of moisture. Cyclopentadecanol is also able to inhibit the growth of P. aeruginosa bacteria by chelating metal ions in the cell membrane, preventing their oxidation and subsequent release of reactive oxygen species. Cyclopentadecanol has been shown to be effective against fatty acids and fatty acid esters found in a variety of common materials such as cosmetics and skin care products. It has also been shown to be an effective inhibitor of hydroxyl radicals generated by alkoxy radicals.
