Descrizione:Butyltriethoxysilane is a chemical compound with the formula CH3(CH2)3SiOCH3. It is used as a catalyst in organic synthesis, as a cross-linking agent in polymer chemistry, and to modify surfaces. Butyltriethoxysilane has been shown to be reactive with halides and can be used to introduce hydroxyl groups into molecules or particles. The addition of butyltriethoxysilane to an aliphatic hydrocarbon leads to the formation of multi-walled carbon nanotubes. Butyltriethoxysilane reacts with inorganic acids such as hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid to form polysilanes (polymer films).
