Descrizione:MPT0B098 is a drug candidate that inhibits actin polymerization. This drug has been shown to reduce tumor growth and vascular density in animal models, which may be due to its ability to destabilize the cytoskeleton of cancer cells. MPT0B098 also inhibits the production of epidermal growth factor (EGF) in fetal bovine serum and may be a potential drug target for EGF-dependent cancers. The mechanism of action for MPT0B098 is not yet clear. It binds to the α subunit of actin filaments and could potentially stabilize or destabilize them, depending on the binding site. It has been shown to interfere with the logarithmic growth phase in some cell lines, but not others. MPT0B098 has been shown to induce monoclonal antibodies in mice and rabbits.
