Descrizione:Eptapirone is a drug that belongs to the class of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It has been shown to be effective in clinical studies for the treatment of symptoms associated with bowel disease and psychosis. Eptapirone is also a 5-HT1A receptor agonist and a dopamine receptor antagonist. It blocks signal pathways that are activated by serotonin, dopamine, and low light. This agent is an analog of gatifloxacin, which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties through its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. Eptapirone binds with high affinity to the D2 dopamine receptor and may also have effects on Ca2+ responses in cells.
