2-Amino-5-cyanopyridine (ACP) is a molecule with a molecular weight of 116.06 g/mol and the empirical formula C5H6N2. It is an amine compound that has been used as a substrate for NMR spectroscopy experiments and surface-enhanced Raman scattering experiments on mammalian cells. ACP has also been used in gravimetric analysis to measure the amount of chloride in water samples. In coordination chemistry, ACP can bind to metals such as copper, silver, or zinc and form complexes with them. These complexes are often studied in functional theory because they act as ligands in protein synthesis.
