Descrizione:o-Anisidine is a sulfa drug that is used to treat certain bacterial infections. It inhibits the activity of enzymes such as methionine synthase, which are required for the synthesis of proteins. o-Anisidine also has genotoxic effects and can cause mutations in DNA. Studies have shown that o-anisidine is metabolized by oxidation to aniline, which is then conjugated with glucuronic acid or excreted as an amine or sulfate. The compound has been shown to be carcinogenic in animals and may have synergistic effects with other drugs.
