2-[2-[2-(2-Azidoethoxy)ethoxy]ethoxy]ethanol is a molecule with two functional groups for conjugation. It is used in the synthesis of bioconjugates, including antigen-antibody and protein-protein interactions. The heterobifunctional nature of this molecule allows it to be conjugated to a variety of biomolecules, including phosphatidylcholine, which can be used to deliver drugs into mammalian cells. 2-[2-[2-(2-Azidoethoxy)ethoxy]ethoxy]ethanol has been shown to exhibit optical properties that depend on its environment and also interacts with water molecules. This molecule has been shown to have high uptake in all cells tested and has also been used as a fluorescent probe for cellular uptake studies.
