Descrizione:Acridin-9-amine hemihydrate is an organic compound that belongs to the class of acridine dyes. It has an acetylcholine receptor blocking property and is used in the treatment of dyskinesia. Acridin-9-amine hemihydrate has been shown to be effective in animal models for Alzheimer's disease. The structure of this molecule consists of a dipole, which has two tautomers, one with a hydrogen atom on nitrogen and another without it. The tautomeric form without the hydrogen atom is more stable than the other form in acidic conditions, but both forms are present in neutral or basic conditions. Acridin-9-amine hemihydrate is also an antitumour agent with activity against breast cancer cells.
