Descrizione:3-Acetyl-4-hydroxyquinolin-2(1H)-one is a quinoline derivative with significant antifungal activity and cytotoxic activity in vitro. It is also known to be an anticancer agent, but the mechanism of its action has not been elucidated. 3-Acetyl-4-hydroxyquinolin-2(1H)-one has shown significant anti cancer activity in mice, as well as an improved pharmacokinetic profile. 3-Acetyl-4-hydroxyquinolin-2(1H)-one inhibits cancer cell growth by interfering with the synthesis of DNA and RNA. In addition, it may inhibit cancer cell proliferation by preventing the formation of hydrogen bonding interactions required for nucleic acid synthesis.
