3-Amino-4-methylphenol is a phenolic compound that belongs to the group of organic compounds. It has shown an inhibitory effect in a study of solutes with the deserving of a-ring. 3-Amino-4-methylphenol has been classified as a potent inhibitor of cyclin dependent kinases, which are enzymes that regulate the cell cycle. This inhibition may be due to its ability to bind to the ATP binding site and block DNA synthesis. 3-Amino-4-methylphenol also has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in animal models, including Sprague Dawley rats, through its ability to induce apoptosis and inhibit angiogenesis.
