Descrizione:3-Amino-4-hydroxybenzenesulphonamide (3A4OHBS) is a sulfonamide derivative that has been synthesized as a potential anticancer agent. 3A4OHBS is an inhibitor of the enzyme carbonic anhydrase, which is involved in the conversion of CO2 to bicarbonate and HCO3-. This inhibition leads to an increase in blood acidity, causing tumor cells to undergo lactic acidosis. 3A4OHBS also inhibits nitric oxide synthase and aminophenol oxidase, which are enzymes that produce nitric oxide and hydrogen peroxide respectively. These metabolites have been implicated in the induction of apoptosis and necrosis by reactive oxygen species.
