Descrizione:Arbutamine is a diagnostic agent that is used to diagnose cardiac disease. It is an analog of the endogenous fatty acid arachidonic acid and can be labeled with a radionuclide, such as technetium-99m, to differentiate between healthy and diseased myocardial tissue. Arbutamine binds to beta receptors in the heart muscle and stimulates the uptake of radioactive tracers. In addition, it may be used to reduce symptoms of an infectious disease by binding to macrophages and inhibiting their ability to ingest bacteria. Arbutamine is also used as a pharmacological agent for treatment of ventricular myocardium in structural heart diseases.
