Descrizione:L-Alanyl-L-proline tert-butyl ester (LAP) is a potent inhibitor of proteases, including angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE), and can be used as an antihypertensive drug. LAP binds to the active site of the ACE and blocks the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II. This inhibition leads to a reduction in blood pressure. LAP has been shown to inhibit the activity of other proteases such as cathepsins, chymotrypsin, trypsin, elastase, and papain. LAP also has potential for use as an anticancer agent due to its ability to inhibit cancer cell growth by blocking protein synthesis at the ribosome level.
