AQX 1125 acetate is an inhibitor of the enzyme kinase and a pyrimidine compound. It has been shown to have inhibitory effects on inflammatory skin diseases and respiratory diseases. AQX 1125 acetate binds to the ATP-binding site of various kinases, preventing their activity, which leads to a decrease in cell proliferation and inflammation. This drug also inhibits the production of cytokines and chemokines, as well as downregulates the expression of adhesion molecules such as ICAM-1. AQX 1125 acetate has been shown to be effective against age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
