Z-DL-Asn-OH is a potent inhibitor of fibrinogen, a protein that promotes the formation of blood clots. It also has antiplatelet properties and can be used to prevent the formation of blood clots. Z-DL-Asn-OH binds to and inhibits the function of proton pumps, which are proteins that maintain acidity in cells. Z-DL-Asn-OH is structurally similar to antibiotics such as erythromycin and clarithromycin. This similarity may explain why it is able to inhibit proton pumps in acidic environments.
