The compound is an efficient method for preparing fatty acid esters with aromatic hydrocarbons.The chemical structure of the molecule provides a cavity that can be used to bind with ethyl bromoacetate. This cavity has been shown in x-ray crystal structures to be able to bind with ethyl bromoacetate and provide an efficient method for preparing fatty acid esters with aromatic hydrocarbons.
