Acid Blue 92 is a water-soluble dye that has been used in wastewater treatment and as a dye for textiles. It is prepared by the direct coupling of two molecules of diazotized benzenesulfonic acid with one molecule of phenol. Acid Blue 92 has an optimum concentration of 0.1%. The reactive dye is characterized by high values, surface methodology, and kinetic properties. The reactive dye has been shown to be resistant to bacterial strain such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This dye has also been shown to have hydrophobic effects on bacterial cells and particle adsorption, which leads to a reaction mechanism through hydrogen bonding interactions.
