Descrizione

Delafloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that is active against a broad range of bacteria and has been shown to be effective in treating a wide variety of bacterial infections. Delafloxacin is used for the treatment of tissue infection, with a high rate of success in resistant mutants. This drug inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to their DNA gyrase, preventing synthesis and replication, as well as inhibiting the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, which leads to paralysis. Delafloxacin also has been shown to have antimicrobial properties against human serum and an experimental model. It's mechanism of action is not fully elucidated but it may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of enzymes such as cytochrome P450 or glutathione reductase.
