Descrizione:Astaxanthin is a carotenoid that belongs to the class of xanthophylls and is found in marine animals, such as crustaceans and salmon. Astaxanthin dipalmitate has been shown to stimulate collagen production and inhibit melanogenesis by binding to tyrosinase. It also inhibits cell proliferation in the endothelial cells and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. Astaxanthin dipalmitate has shown high values for inhibiting carbonyl groups, which may be due to its ability to act as an antioxidant by scavenging reactive oxygen species.
