Descrizione

Atractylodin is a naturally occurring compound found in the plant Cimicifuga foetida. Atractylodin has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and chemoattractant effects on neutrophils, and has been identified as an autophagy inducer. It also inhibits the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin 8 (IL-8). Atractylodin has been shown to inhibit the activity of enzymes that produce prostaglandins, which are involved in inflammation. It is also a potential candidate for use in clinical trials for rheumatoid arthritis due to its inhibition of cycloxygenase 2 (COX-2) activity.
