Descrizione:Androstane is a human nuclear steroid that has been found to be a constitutive androstane receptor ligand at physiological levels. Androstane has been shown to regulate transcriptional activity through the androgen receptor. It is also an endogenous metabolite of testosterone, with both anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. Androstane has shown efficacy against infectious diseases such as malaria, which is caused by a protozoan parasite that invades red blood cells. This compound is also used in drug transporter studies, where it has been shown to inhibit the P-glycoprotein efflux pump in cancer cells, leading to increased accumulation of anticancer drugs in tumor cells.
