Descrizione:Allyl 2-furoate is a non-volatile compound that has been shown to have insecticidal properties against lepidoptera. It binds to the fatty acid synthase enzyme of the target insect, which is essential for the production of fatty acids. This leads to a disruption in the synthesis of fats and proteins, causing death by starvation. Allyl 2-furoate also inhibits acetylcholinesterase and phosphodiesterase, which are enzymes that are important for neurotransmitter release and muscle contraction respectively. Allyl 2-furoate is soluble in solvents such as ether, chloroform, benzene, and ethyl acetate. Its molecular weight is 136.2 g/mol with a target tissue of tissues or cells that contain alkene groups (e.g., ovaries).
