Descrizione:2-Amino-5-methylbenzamide (2AMB) is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase and is used in cancer research for its ability to inhibit tumor cell line growth. 2AMB has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and protein in various human cell lines. The mechanism of this inhibition is not well understood, but it may be due to its ability to inhibit the activity of synthetases involved in nucleotide biosynthesis or by inhibiting the reaction system that converts hydration into ATP.
