It promotes the transcriptional activity of human polymerase chain reaction by binding with lysine residues on the DNA template strand and stabilizing the polymerase enzyme. L-Ascorbic acid 2-phosphate sesquimagnesium salt hydrate also induces morphological changes in cultured cells, leading to cell death.
