Descrizione:Protoporphyrin IX dimethyl ester is a sterically demanding, nitrogen-containing chemical compound. It is a mesoporphyrin that is synthesized from protoporphyrin IX by removing two methyl groups from the 5- and 6-positions of the porphyrin ring. Protoporphyrin IX dimethyl ester has been shown to have anticancer properties in tumor cells. The synthesis of this compound was achieved by palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions with sodium salts and dimethyl esters. Mesoporphyrin, which is similar to protoporphyrin IX dimethyl ester, has also been used as an anti-cancer agent in tumor cells.
