Descrizione:1,11-Dodecadiene is a reactive compound that has been used for the preparation of polyolefins and copolymers. It is also used in the oxidation of long-chain fatty acids to produce polyunsaturated fatty acids. 1,11-Dodecadiene is an important intermediate in the production of olefinic compounds such as n-hexane and polymers such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) stationary phases. The marine sponge Xestospongia spp. produces 1,11-dodecadiene, which can be isolated by adsorption chromatography on silica gel. It is a nonpolar compound that has been shown to have antiinflammatory properties.
